Andrea Gara has been designing beautiful gardens for over twenty years. After a start in the nursery trade, which gave her an exceptional grounding in plant culture, she trained for four years at the world-renowned New York Botanical Garden School of Landscape Design.
An avid traveler, Andrea has had the opportunity to tour, study, and photograph gardens around the globe, including many in the Mediterranean, Japan, China, Vietnam, Thailand, France, and England. These experiences have informed her unique design aesthetic.
Andrea is an active community volunteer, working to protect our environment through the non-profit 350 SV Palo Alto.
She also writes and occasionally speaks on gardening and environmental topics. Her articles have appeared in The New York Times among other publications.
